Welcome To Our Web Site

The Harrison County Genealogical Society welcomes those interested in the discussion and exchange of information about genealogy. Our purpose is to study methods available to members for genealogical research and to develop, collect, record, and catalog genealogical data and related historical material for public use. We encourage others to become interested in genealogy and will assist in research within the scope of our resources ... primarily Harrison County Texas.

The society meets four times a year on the first Saturday of the months of March, June, September and December at 10am in the library of the Harrison County Historical Museum. Members of the society serve as volunteer librarians in the Historical Museum library.

Society membership is open to all. The dues are $10.00 a year for individuals, $15.00 for families, and $5.00 for students. Annual dues are payable the first of June each year. Many of our members live out of town but stay in touch with the society thanks to our quarterly newsletter published in cooperation with the Harrison County Historical Museum. Money raised from dues goes to purchase books, journals, CD's, software and other enhancements for the library collection.
